Coming soon...
..the app.
After a great deal of consultation, discussion and brainstorming with some vetting and refining of plenty of ideas, the Reality of Illness app is now fully specified for development and is in production.
A tentative estimate is that this will take around a month to six weeks.
It is a lot of work and it will need to be thoroughly tested for both Apple and Android mobile platforms and then deployed within app stores for people to download.
It will not be free, but will cost much less than a decent cup of coffee at around $3 (£2.25) to download.
We won’t release anything half-baked and indeed we have a responsibility to uphold the high standard of data delivery we have already secured.
We are aiming this at the terrain ‘evangelists’ those who are educated and knowledgeable advocates of the terrain paradigm. As such it might be made available only to a limited number of users since we are not aiming at a mass market. Indeed most people wouldn’t even ‘get’ what we are intending to be its main functionality and purpose. If you think you are this kind of person and would be interested to be a tester please let us know here.
Without giving away too many details, I will be giving a weekly update on the progress, outlining how things are going and how we see this being used for the betterment, promotion and greater acceptance of the terrain perspective.
Part of the app is devoted to creating a better way to manage our showing of popularity (people and resources) for the benefit of new people. So our existing voting feature on the website will stay suspended for the meantime.
However we will continue to add new data, we will also continue to liaise with notable members of the terrain community and we will continue to feature things or people we think will be of interest.
