Policing
Children and adults who act the same
I’ve never felt like much of a policemen.
Maybe with fifteen very enjoyable and successful years as a cub-scout leader there was more than a little of frustrated teacher about me …but never a policeman.
Sure I had to intervene while I was the cub-scout leader to address any bullying to which we always had zero tolerance. But the youngsters were largely well-behaved and easy to manage, so I never had to expel or suspend anyone …ever.
I gave it up over ten years ago, and my duration in charge of the ‘pack’ (ably assisted by a small team of other leaders) was largely carried out NOT within the current prevailing social media age. Plus of course since the cubs were aged 7 to 11 they were not supposed to be on Facebook and at that time nobody in that age group spent hours glued to a smart phone.
Happy days and simpler times.
But never in my dreams would I have thought my skills as Akela (cub scout leader) would be called on in these current times. And certainly I never thought these well-learned skills would be needed to try and control grown adults — predominantly men.
But I have to say the antics I have observed today among adults and even the bullying is much worse than anything I ever saw within the cub scouts.
The cubs could claim their young age as a good defence …but not so the adults.
It has been my misfortune to witness what can only be described as a character assassination of Mike Stone who was addressing a matter of scientific nuance on the much-criticised Mike Yeadon Telegram channel.
Note: This is the channel and chat that is actually run by Tim West and the principal bully.
I do not propose to enter into the details of this or take sides since it is a matter I believe of each not seeing the other’s point of perspective. But whereas Mike Stone maintained his composure and argued rationally, logically and reasonably everybody within the chat group just ganged up and harangued him.
I have retained the whole conversation as a record in case the decision I am making now is ever needed to be justified.
But in short, I have seen enough to now consider it wise to delete Dr Mike Yeadon as a person of note from our Who’s Who directory.
This is to disassociate the Reality of Illness website from an environment that is just causing trouble to the whole terrain movement.
Furthermore, it seems only appropriate that we delete Dr Mike Yeadon’s videos as well.
If anybody wishes to follow Mike, they can still do so so on the Telegram here:
But we will be disassociating ourselves with him completely and his motley crew of admins altogether which I think it very sad indeed.
I reached out very recently to Dr Mike Yeadon in the hope he might contact me to try and find a way to resolve issues around the shocking behaviour of the admins who run the Telegram channel in his name, but there was no response.
Hence we judge his silence to be tantamount to endorsement of a type of behaviour we simply cannot be seen to condone.
What makes our decision somewhat more difficult is that Yeadon had been increasing in popularity as we recently reported. But of course these could just be votes given to him from among the ‘pack of wolves’ that jump on anyone in his chat who holds a contrary opinion — something which is laughably described by the channel owner as ‘bad faith communication’
But it remains only a guess who has been voting for him since Reality of Illness do not record any details of the people who cast votes which they do in order to give popularity to people or resources that we feature in our extensive online directory.

Yeadon is suspect in my opinion. Something off about him, always has been. Never liked him, nor trusted his “journey”.
