Reversal
I like this way of thinking.
The concept is simple. You simply take away the cause of the problem or somehow reverse the cause …and the problem will dissipate. I would qualify to say this is provided no lasting damage has been done by the thing itself.
Real life examples
Let’s reverse a flat tyre (tire) which is lacking in air by adding some air. ✅
Let’s reverse your thirst which is a lack of water (dehydration) by getting you to drink (adding water) ✅
Let’s reverse your poverty (being poor) by adding money to make you richer. ✅
Let’s reverse your overweight caused by too much wrong food and insufficient exercise by increasing your exercise and reducing the inappropriate food ✅
Let’s reverse your being overheated by allowing cooling by removing the cause which is you wearing too many clothes. And/or we can expose more skin to provide the cooling action of evaporating more surface area sweat. Alternatively we can just move you to a cooler place. ✅
In each above case we have identified and addressed the actual cause of the problem.
Now let’s apply this to the concept of illness.
We are going to reverse your cancer which was caused by a lack of chemo toxins by adding some to your body. ❌
We are going to reverse your inflammation caused by a lack of anti-inflammatories by getting you to take some more. ❌
We are going to reverse the pain you are experiencing which is caused by a lack of painkillers by getting you to take more, or stronger ones, or different ones. ❌
I think you can clearly see the cause, effect and sensible remedies in the first examples. But in the later examples this is just putting the cart before the horse.
It is akin to someone getting an electric shock every time they touch something and treating the resultant burn or tingling sensation with an ointment. You would never say the cause of the tingles was the lack of the ointment.
It gets worse for medicine because for everything there absolutely has to be a cause otherwise the prowess and credibility of the whole profession is diminished if they cannot find it.
Note: Can you recall anyone being told we have no idea what is causing this?
Consequently, if the medics can’t find a cause, which is often because they don’t ask the right questions, they will simply invoke one as if by magic. It is after all in their interests to find a cause because then they can provide you with a purported remedy by way of a pill, lotion or potion.
And as Mark Bailey clearly states:
His way of thinking in a nutshell is that something done to your body in your lifestyle, environment or outlook has caused you to suffer in some way which shows itself as a symptom (or possibly several symptoms). The symptom is the body trying to put things right so don’t try and stop it from doing what it was designed to do or you will only make matters worse.
And once you are better, which invariably happens if you let your body do its thing, look for what might have been the cause and address it or reverse it.
This outlook is in stark contrast to the generally accepted and promoted reductionist notion that one disease is caused by one germ for which there will be one cure.
That contrasting outlook known as the ‘terrain’ paradigm/perspective is vastly more scientifically proven than the alternative germ theory that has dominated in recent times.
Terrain thinking is gaining traction daily as people start to understand for themselves how the body works and after the conspicuous catastrophe of COVID that lost the pharmaceutical and medical industries much credibility and many customers.
Reality of Illness was created to give you the means to dig into this outlook yourself and find the people who support it and the wealth of evidence they offer. This is not a new thing as you will see by the 103 historic folk we list that include Florence Nightingale, Charles Dickens and Mahatma Gandhi. In some cases this outlook dates back thousands of years to Dr. Hippocrates of Kos about which we say:
Biography
(460 BC - 370 BC) The ancient Greek physician often referred to as the “Father of Medicine”.
“Illnesses do not come upon us out of the blue. They are developed from small daily sins against Nature. When enough sins have accumulated, illnesses will suddenly appear.”
Hippocrates is credited as the first person to believe that illnesses were caused naturally, not because of superstition and gods.
Between Hippocrates and Dr Mark Bailey science hijacked illnesses for commercial reasons to become a healthcare for profit system.
Now this is really something we need to reverse.
