Testing, testing 1, 2, 3 testing
App update
I’m showing my age and remembering when ‘roadies’ at ‘gigs’ would do a sound check using these immortal lyrics.
However, I’m actually referring here to software testing and a final phase that has been going on diligently to ensure our new Reality of Illness app works as required and offers our intended users what we reckon (via questionnaire feedback) they want.
I’m very happy with what the developer has produced and each incremental ‘build’ (these now numbering ten) incorporates small refinements or small bug fixes.
We expect to launch in a couple of weeks with variants available for both IOS Apple users on the App Store and Android users on the Play Store.
A small selection of people have put the app through its paces using a variety of devices on both platforms and have given us their feedback.
The app will not be free but we have decided to keep the price below that of an average Costa or Starbucks coffee.
We think it will do both you and the whole terrain community vastly more good than a caffeine fix but that is just our opinion.
There is no need for this app to make money for anyone. And with downloads being restricted to an initial release of just 250 users, frankly at this price point it will not even cover the development costs even if they are all taken up.
Priceless
But we figured free could be seen as being worthless and this app is anything but worthless, in fact we think it will be more like priceless.
Making money was never what the Reality of Illness project was about and the whole thrust is to unify the voices and evidence from those who have trail-blazed this wellness paradigm in one place so its reach can be extended to new people. It is stupid to try and put a price on that ...so we don’t.
The full details about what the app does and who it is aimed at will be given in a Substack piece to come shortly and just ahead of the release.
We are pretty excited about it so we hope you will be too.
